In connection with Salem Second Saturday we will be honoring Charles Burchfield's mother. Alice Murphy Burchfield was a single mother who raised six wonderful and productive children in this very homestead. She was also known in the neighborhood as a talented baker. Visit our backyard garden to sample a cookie made with love from a vintage recipe. Children may be inspired to create their own Mother’s Day cards in our Night Wind House. Step across the street to help us dedicate a Little Lending Library.

This year for the first time our Annual Meeting will be held outdoors under a tent in the lot across from the Homestead. Memberships for 2021 will be available on site. We also offer the option to join us by Zoom. Please phone the Homestead at 330 717-0092 to request an email link.
